Hi there, my name is Gill. 

I do most of my running on my own as a run-commute to my day-job in central London. <edit> I used to - I'm currently on maternity leave as I have just had my first baby (Feb 2018) and I'm now on the post-partum journey back to fitness. I'm learning how to balance motherhood, family life and training seriously again. I'm aiming to get back to sub-three and then some, with my big goal being to get the US Olympic Trials Qualifying Time - not because I'm American but because I want to know that if I was, I *could* run it. At the moment that is 2:45.

I started running in 2014 and ran my first marathon in Mablethorpe in 2011 when my husband and I decided we wanted to run London Marathon but didn't want to go through the ballot, so we trained for Good For Age entry.

I started training more seriously in 2015 for the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon after winning a competition with Athletics Weekly to document my training journey for them. You can read that story here.

I run with Harrow Athletics Club, Advent Running, Adidas Runners, and BBC Running Club. My training plan is written by Ben at Full Potential.

Main achievements: 1st Lake Garda Marathon, 48th Berlin Marathon, 7th Florence Marathon (1st brit and 1st non-elite)

I live in North London with my husband and two cats. I'm part of Euston Church, I also write a baking blog and write for various other outlets including Rangemaster UK.
