Training Log: 5th - 11th March 2018

Monday 5th - Me : 5 mins core rehab // Mr B: Rest day

Tuesday 6th - Me: Walked laps of our village with a grumpy baby // Mr B: Track

Sir Roger Bannister passed away so the Harrow track-gang decided to mark this by running a timed mile at the start of the session. This is particularly apt because they train at Bannister Stadium which I'm told Sir Roger donated money towards. Also, the Harrow Half Marathon also has a family  mile race option which Sir Roger allowed them to name after him (footnote: if you go to the website you might see some familiar faces on the home and half marathon registration page!)

So Mr B planned (and I made him promise) not to go crazy in the mile time trial.He planned to go out with a guy who he's normally similar too, but that guy wasn't taking it easy! So he went out harder than intended and ended up slowing in the latter parts to clock a 5:52 mile. The rest of the session was 5x1200 off 90s.

Wednesday 7th - Mr B: 30 mins easy, moved to Thurs

Thursday 8th - Me: 5 mins core rehab // Mr B: AM Easy run to work (from yesterday) / PM 10 min WU, 3 x 15 minutes at Threshold effort with a 90 second recovery, 10 min CD

AM Easy - 5.06mi, 41:01, 8:06/mi, 162bpm
PM Session - 9.04mi, 1:06:55, 7:24/mi, 169bpm

Friday 9th - Mr B: Rest Day

Saturday 10th - Me:Swim! //  Mr B: 165 minute Long Run; First 90 minutes Easy, Second 75 minutes at Marathon Pace

AM, Mr B went for his longest run to date. He found it easier than last week and was less wrecked afterwards so that bodes well. 

Better Wembley Swimming Pool

In the afternoon, Mr B took Monty for a spin while I dashed to the pool, it was great to get that headspace and I thoroughly enjoyed my first proper attempt at aquajogging. I did 15  mins front crawl, 10 aqua jog, 5 breaststroke. Obviously I took it easy but my HR was good and I felt like I could breathe better than I could even before I was pregnant.
