While Shenzen Half Marathon hit the headlines for the high number of cheaters, the Marathon appears to have been much fairer in result . Pre race favourite Mulu Seboka (34) beat the course record, set only last year. She also improved on her 2nd place to the course record holder, Viktoria Poliudina (KRG). It was a way off her PB of 2:21:56 but that was set back in 2015 in Dubai. The IAAD report that her lead was a good 10s by the 25k mark and that only widened as the race went on. Second place went to the much more experienced Flomena Chepchir who ran her fastest time since 2013.

  1. Mulu Seboka, ETH 2:27:12

  2. Flomena Cepchirchir, KEN, 2:32:05

  3. Ashu Kasim, ETH, 2:38:35

PISA MARATHON, ITALY

Showing that Ultra runners can get Marathon wins, the IAU 2018 100k champion Nikolina Sustic took down the competition by over minute 1 winning the Pisa marathon in chilly conditions for the second year in a row…. and only 4 weeks after running 2:41:51 and the European Championships in Berlin earlier this year.
