Mon 8th - 30mins Easy + 15mins conditioning
Tues 9th - 10 minutes Warm Up, 15 minutes at Threshold Effort, 3 minutes Recovery, 5 x 90 seconds at 5k pace with a 60 second recovery, 10 minutes Cool Down
Gorgeous morning - really misty out there. Made friends with a squirrel
Threshold =6’37 //90s efforts = 6’20, 6’23, 5’51, 6’11, 6’08
Wed 10th - Rest
Thurs 11th - 10 minutes Warm Up, 6,5,4,3,2,1 minutes at Threshold effort with a 60 second jog recovery between reps, 10 minutes Cool Down // PM - did the second in Euston Church’s running event series.
The boy was a star and had a lie in until 7.30 so I could get my 6,5,4,3,2,1 threshold off 60s in early doors. I love that session. I was aiming for a royal flush (each rep faster than the last) but didn’t quite manage it
The Euston Church running evening are a chance to go for a little 7k run around London and then hear an interview with a Christian runner about why being a Christian makes running even better!
6=6’31, 5=6’29, 4=6’22, 3=6’25, 2 = 6’20, 1=5’44
Friday 12th - Swim // 20min conditioning
Saturday 13th - 70 minute Long Run; Pick up middle 40 minutes to Marathon Pace
Was under strict instructions not to push the pace and to sit at the 7’10 mark and come away from it feeling like it hadn’t been an effort.
Stats: 10.4 miles
middle 40 section was 7’06, 6’58, 7’01, 7’07, 7’06, 7’08
Sunday 14th - 20 mins conditioning
Mini B has had a cold and was waking up a LOT because he was coughing so much. So, barely had any sleep. Mr B and I spent the day tag teaming between trying to nap ourselves and keep the small boy happy. Didn’t do the conditioning as we were barely functioning! Hoping things improve fast as the poor boy is sad and it’s not ideal pre-marathon prep!
Total miles: 33
Mon 15th - 30 mins easy
Needed some fresh air and sanity but not had much sleep
Stats: 4.22 miles, 31:58, 7’34/mi, 140bpm
Tues 16th - 10 minutes Warm Up, 3 x 3 minutes at Threshold effort with a 60 second recovery, 10 minutes Cool Down
It’s rare that I don’t enjoy a run but I’m so sleep deprived thanks to poor MiniB’s cold that I’ll be honest - I sniffled my way around this and was glad when it was over. Not a happy bunny today.
Stats: 4.11mi, 32:48, 7’58/mi Threshold = 6’35. 6’33, 6’24
Weds 17th - Rest
Thurs 18th - 10 minutes Warm Up, 5 x 2 minutes at 90% (10k) effort with a 60 second recovery, 10 minutes Cool Down
Better than Tuesday and feeling more hopeful as the in-laws looked after the small one while I went for a meeting in town and also got to do my run around regents park in the sun.Just what I needed. Still very tired though.
Friday 19th - Rest
Sat 20th - 20 minutes Easy Run + Strides
Did this but doesn’t seem to have saved on the watch. Legs feel ok. GOing to stay on my own in Abingdon tonight. Will miss the boy but looking forward to sleep!
Sun 21st - Abingdon Marathon
Done! More soon, but happy with 5th lady a 3:04:10. Not the fastest it could have been but certainly not the slowest either and I enjoyed it and Mr B and Mini B were out on the course.

An apt 8th wedding anniversary photo. Thanks to @wjohnharvey for capturing a high-five moment on the course of #abdingdonmarathon this weekend. Recovery is going well - as usual I had plans for vast amounts of cake but instead find myself craving fruit, vegetables and peanut butter and have possibly googled November / Dec Marathons. Thank goodness I have Mr B and Ben FP to keep me reined in! (Thanks to @lindseyhein626 and @tinamuir88 and @thebuggycoach for inspiration and sanity during the run up with their podcasts and buggy training info). #marathonjunkie #wegoagain #plansplansplans #fullpotential #wmnrun #ukrunchat #thelongroadback #blandontherun #christiansinsport #marathon #motherrunner now we head towards @limassolmarathon and @londonmarathon and hopefully grab a 5k sub 20 somewhere along the way??? #weddinganniversary #runningcouples #babyspam #team
